Bad Vibes

The experimental hip-hop/electronica producer actually proffered a 12-track release, Shlomoshun Deluxe, through Friends of Friends in January of last year, although it seems Bad Vibes is being thought of as his debut album proper. In the time since then, Shlohmo, AKA Henry Laufer, has followed up with a pair of releases for Friends of Friends—the digital-only Camping and 7-inch single Places—in addition to an appearance on GonjaSufi's The Caliph's Tea Party remix album.

Both cuts from the Places 7-inch are among Bad Vibes's 13 tracks, pointing to an album-length continuation of Laufer's often melancholic take on experimental hip-hop. "It's been a little over a year in the making," Laufer posted earlier this month on the Friends of Friends blog. "I've worked pretty god damn hard on this thing. Shit, I dropped out of college to make it.
