Steam Days
Inspired by his upbringing in the rural village of Necton in Norfolk, Steam Days represents "everything that's gone on in [his] head for the past two years." The album evidently has a wistful, nostalgic bent, including tracks referencing his hometown ("Neketona"), ancient Celtic tribes ("Iceni Strings"), and the ZX Spectrum gaming console ("World of Spectrum"), with "lingering drones and blending textures evocative of a longing for familiar territory." Using a variety of analog recording techniques and "one-take live home recordings" on the album, a press release claims it sits somewhere between the more club-oriented angle of Hard Islands and the dreamier aspects of his debut album, Drowning In A Sea Of Love. All of the tracks on the album are previously unreleased barring first single "Iceni Strings" which was released this past June.
