Scott Walker
Scott The Collection 67-70
n 1967 a 24 year old Scott Walker stepped out from his role as lead vocalist with The Walker Brothers to produce his debut solo album simply titled 'Scott' to much critical acclaim and chart success. This was to be the start of a vision of an artist set apart from his pop-balladeer teen idol image who went on to become a most enigmatic and revered male vocalist, singer-songwriter, composer, producer and a true creative force.
'Scott - The Collection 1967-1970' collects together 5 of Scott's solo albums released between 1967 - 1970. They showcase Scott's inimitable vocals to an array of orchestral arrangements and powerful lyrical imagery, explored both through Scott's self-written material alongside his much documented interpretations of the work of Jacques Brel, passionately delivered and beautifully arranged. Cut from the original stereo tapes the vinyl set brings together the first 5 solo LPs with their original artwork for the first time. The CD collection is also mastered from these original tapes.
