Nektar
A Tab In The Ocean
In the early 70 s Nektar were one of the most popular bands of the German underground, along with Amon Düül II, Can and Guru Guru. In the beginning, however, only few people knew that they weren't Germans at all, but came from England. In Hamburg Nektar met their lighting specialist Mick Brockett, who had worked with Pink Floyd in the end of the 1960 s. In no time Nektar became famous not only for their excellent music but for their spectacular light show on stage. In early 1971 producer Peter Hauke caught notice of the band and arranged contact with bacillus records. Tab in the Ocean was a bombshell among Nektar fans. The album paved the way for Nektar's future success both in and outside Germany. The exciting artwork by psychedelic painter Helmut Wenske, who was still at the beginning of his career back then. Listening to the album today, it's magic continues and is a delight not just for fans of Krautrock or Psych!
