The Moldy Peaches’ Adam Green and Little Joy’s Binki Shapiro will release their eponymous debut as a duo on January 29th via Concord and Rounder Records. As their album cover (left) might imply, there is a slight nod to the Gainsbourg/Birkin/Bardot canon here. Wisely, though, “Here I Am” adheres closer to their respective strengths, with Shapiro’s smoky upper-register voice and Green’s resonant baritone meeting up in time for the tune’s lovely, near-twee chorus.
