Marika Hackman
We Slept Last Night
Marika Hackman releases her debut album 'We Slept At Last'. The album comes following a series of hugely revered singles and EP's over the last year, and has been produced by long-term collaborator Charlie Andrew (Alt J, Eugene Mcguinness). The album released through Dirty Hit Records, the independent label home to The 1975 and Wolf Alice, features 12 entirely new, unreleased songs. Glamorously morose, Marika Hackman is a hypnotic addition to the ranks of glowering female singer-songwriters, constructing sparse mood pieces of diamond-cut melody and medieval battle drum that seem designed to summon armies of crows. Think somewhere between Syd Barrett and Nico.
