Foreign Fields
Take Over
Brian Holl and Eric Hillman release the next chapter in Foreign Fields story; the Take Cover LP which arrives a full five years after their astonishing debut record, Everywhere But Where I Am. And it’s a staggering record. Meaningful, moody, melodic; epic when it needs to be and utterly fragile when it doesn’t. Perhaps its most miraculous trait, however, is that it’s even here at all. Battling through all manner of pitfalls, from creative blocks to strikingly personal hardship, they found themselves lost within a narrative that doesn’t always have a satisfying ending, no matter how much it might be strived for. Influenced by the likes of Radiohead, Flying Lotus, Bon Iver, and Bjork, their signature sound showcases the versatility of the duo’s musical talents.
